{ Hijabi Girl + Interview = Mirriam Kaissi }

Who are you? Where do you live?

My name is Mirriam Kaissi and I'm a 25 year old mother of 2 children currently living and studying in London.

What were your inspirations?

Undoubtedly my inspirations came from my country of origin, Morocco. Being a young Girl brought up in London it was always a pleasure to have the opportunity to go back to Morocco and experience some of the regions richest cultures.

You have been inspired by your family too, please tell us more.

It would always cease to amaze me the level of intricacy my sister in laws would put in to the making of their own Moroccan Kaftans also known as (Tackshita or Lebsa)

They would sit on the roof tops over looking Tangiers watching the peaceful sunset over the hustle and bustle below. Mint tea was always on order at this time of the evening and so was Kaftan Making.

Because they were unable to work away from home they would have what you could call a Job which enabled them to work from home. They would seamlessly divide their time from housework into hand embroidery and hand made Buttons which they made for the neighboring merchants and dress makers.

This level of workmanship or workwomenship ;) that went into these elegant garments surely caught my attention and I'm sure they will catch the imagination of women here in the UK too.

How would you describe your style?

I would describe my style as being Elegant and worthy of being a garment fit for a Princess or a Bride.

Do you have any website??

I'm currently in the process of setting up the website and will be sure to let you know when it's all systems go.
